Intern at The Guardian
I spent three weeks at The Guardian on G2, multimedia, books and cultures desks. I interviewed the winner of the Waterstones Debut Fiction Prize and earned my first by-line. I also used TikTok and video editing software to collaborate with print journalists in creating engaging social media content. I learned to use SEO to boost and sustain readership.
2020 - 2021
Editor-in-Chief of The Tab Leeds
I managed a team of over 25 writers, collaborating and editing articles for a student demographic. I demonstrated intuition in obtaining statements from universities, corporations, and establishments. I supported my print articles with a strong social media presence. My article on Tom Birchy received over 10,000 reads in the first 24 hours of publication. I gained particularly strong knowledge of journalism law.
2019 - 2020

I have demonstrated flexibility in writing for a modern-feminist magazine, writing on issues such as abortion and virginity. I adapted my language, tone and style accordingly.

I worked in teams to curate articles in accordance to University guidelines and took instruction from the EIC, whilst applying my own creativity and intuition. I also used WordPress to edit and publish both print and online articles.

Master's Degree in International Journalism from the University of Leeds
My dissertation involved interviewing OnlyFans content creators and explored whether OnlyFans was the feminist solution to problems identified in pornography. I also took modules in Migration, Race, Feminism, Journalism Theory and Journalism Research. I developed my legal knowledge and considered the future of journalism. My essay on the coverage of the Qatar World Cup scored 76 and was commended for originality and its language.

Bachelor's Degree in English Literature from the University of Leeds
I have shown a strong command of the English language and my ability to analyse language in relation to its historical and social context. I achieved a 2.1 overall.
